The tourbillon’s complexity makes it coveted, leading watch aficionados on a hunt for the most complicated of them all
Designed, developed and manufactured at Louis Vuitton’s watchmaking workshop, the Tambour Curve GMT Flying Tourbillon features a case with a striking design, inspired by the Tambour watch launched in 2002.
1. The double-face case, crowns, slide piece, hour/minute hands and fold-over clasp of Patek Philippe’s Sky Moon Tourbillon are entirely hand-engraved with volutes and arabesques.
2. Breguet’s Tourbillon Messidor comes in a 40 mm 18K rose gold case, which has a transparent back and an invisible tourbillon bridge. The brown alligator strap lends an exotic touch.
3. The hand-finished tourbillon movement of this Audemars Piguet piece in different shades of grey is housed in a two-tone case of white and pink gold, highlighting the watch’s multifaceted geometry.
4. When Girard-Perregaux celebrated its 230th anniversary last year, it unveiled La Esmeralda Tourbillon “A Secret” Eternity Edition, which employs the Maison’s watchmaking know-how executed to an exceptional standard.
5. Featuring one of the most sophisticated Grandes Complications movements, Bvlgari’s Roma Finissimo Tourbillon is equipped with the world’s thinnest tourbillon movement at only 1.95 mm thick.
