Tropicana: Can you tell us more about the MST Golf store at Tropicana Gardens Mall?

Low: MST Golf at Tropicana Gardens Mall occupies about 36,000 square feet with a 45-metre frontage. There are four storefronts - MST Golf Super Store, MST Athleisure Wear, MST Golf Arena and Tee Box Restaurant & Bar, all internally connected. Additionally, Golf Lab is a state-of-the-art teaching and club-fitting facility where golfers can work on their swings with teaching pros or get custom-fitted by qualified fitters.

Tropicana: How different is it from other golf stores?

Low: This store showcases MST Golf’s latest elevated retail concept, combining shopping, playing, learning, dining, and leisure to deliver a total consumer experience. For golfers, MST Golf Super Store houses the most complete selection across all product categories from  global golf brands. And, regardless whether you’re a golfer or not, MST Athleisure Wear offers the latest collections from leading sports and high-street brands.

Tropicana: What factors influenced the choice to open a MST Golf store at Tropicana Gardens Mall?

Low: Location, location, location! It’s our anchor store in that area and is ideally located to serve our target consumers from a number of affluent and vibrant townships such as Kota Damansara, Mutiara Damansara, Damansara Perdana, Bandar Utama, and Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

Tropicana: What are the advantages of having a store at Tropicana Gardens Mall?

Low: It‘s easy for our customers to find us and convenient for them to get in and out of Tropicana Gardens Mall. The long frontage allows us to present multiple storefronts to attract different consumers, including non-golfers. 

Tropicana: What would you recommend a potential customer purchase at the MST Golf store, Tropicana Gardens Mall?

Low: They are many types of golfers, from beginners and social golfers to skilled players and professionals, so I would make recommendations based on their playing abilities and needs. From a technical standpoint, MST Golf Super Store is staffed with experienced golf consultants and qualified club-fitters who will be able to recommend the ideal equipment based on the customer’s physique, swing speed, ability and shot tendencies. For non-golfers, I would show them the latest athleisure wear collections which are made of performance fabrics for easy wear and care. 

Tropicana: As a golfer, what do you think of Tropicana Golf & Country Resort? 

Low: TGCR is one of the most prestigious golf clubs in Malaysia with a full range of golf, sports, recreational, and F&B facilities. The golf course is definitely one of the best maintained in the region. To me, it plays quite long, and the greens are very undulating and tricky. If you play to your handicap at Tropicana, then you are probably a “buaya” (an ace) at other courses!

Tropicana: Would you by any chance own a Tropicana property?

Low: Not yet! But I’m keeping an eye out for one.
