Alia Bastamam’s design principle as a female fashion designer is simple: she only creates garments that she would wear. Her resort-centric designs, which are adored by many, stem from an attentive and inclusive understanding of the female character and the feminine form. Alia won the Designer of the Year Award at Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week in 2017, placing her among the country’s leading fashion designers.
