Tropicana Gardens Mall (“TGM”), a subsidiary of Tropicana Corporation Berhad has been buzzing with a host of exciting activities. Recently, Sports Direct Malaysia opened its latest elevated superstore at Tropicana Gardens Mall. This store boasts a retail footprint of 28,000 sq ft including both Sports Direct and the new USC lifestyle facia, marking the 33rd store in Malaysia. The launch coincided with Sports Direct’s announcement of its holding company name for the region, Frasers Group Asia Sdn Bhd, with its new regional HQ in Sunway City.

The pandemic has only temporarily delayed expansion into the Southeast Asia region as acknowledged by Paul Gibbons, Managing Director of Frasers Group Asia.

“We are continuing to develop and elevate our Sports Direct store concept, which will include the new USC lifestyle facia, hence providing a seamless crossover from sport to street as well as leisurewear,” commented Gibbons. “Our primary aim remains to deliver unparalleled value and variety of branded sports gear but now in a fresh, easy-to-shop format across our various sports and lifestyle zones,” he continued. “This includes informative LED screens at both the entrance and in-store to highlight on latest promotions, trends, and activities.”

The Tropicana Gardens Mall store is uniquely zoned by key sports categories, which include Football, Running, Training (fitness, cross-training, gym equipment, weights, boxing & yoga), Rackets (badminton, tennis & squash), Swimming (pool, beach & water sports), SD Sports (basketball, rugby, extreme games, cycling, skates & indoor games), SD Lifestyle (Kids Women & Men) plus Outdoor (hiking, trekking, camping & fishing).
