Some 50 property, real estate, architecture and interior design firms from Asia Pacific will vie for the 'World's Best' Property Award titles in Dubai this December, in a prestigious annual event participated by some of the best in the global industry.

This year's Asia Pacific Awards' presentation ceremony, held in Kuala Lumpur on May 8-9, had registered subcategory winners who bagged home regional awards that include Best Commercial High-Rise Development Asia Pacific, Best Mixed-Use Development Asia Pacific, and Best Office Development Asia Pacific.

Hosted in Shangri-La Hotel, the event was attended by hundreds of the leading property professionals from 29 countries, including Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. Among the submitted entries and award recipients from Malaysia include Tropicana Corporation Berhad, UEM Sunrise Berhad, Hatten Group, IOI Property Berhad, IJM Land Berhad, Guoco Land Berhad and MKH Berhad.

"We are very excited to be honoured with this significant recognition for the Group. Attaining these awards is an evidence that Tropicana Corporation Berhad is capable of forward-thinking developments. None of this could have happened without our people's commitment and hard work," said a spokesperson from Tropicana Corporation Berhad. According to event organiser, International Property Awards, the judging of the winners was conducted through "a meticulous process that involved a panel of over 70 experts covering every aspect of the property of industry".

This year's Asia Pacific summit, with special coverage by The Epoch Times as one of its exclusive official media, witnessed a series of round table conferences for industry players and thought leaders to network and discuss trends in the regional property market.

The roundtable discussions include "Emerging Asia - Why Now?" by Savills Vietnam; "Search behaviour of property buyers and investors' by and "Chinese property market, the opportunities co-exist with risks" by the Epoch Times.

According to Mr Stuart Shield, President of the International Property Awards, it remains to seen whether Asia Pacific can retain the title of best performing region of the world in the International Property Awards as well as beat its own record for yet another successive year.

:Each region is highly competitive and with levels of excellence within the property industry risking annually, this makes the competition hugely exciting as it heads towards the final conclusion in Decemer," he said.

Every year, a selected number of winners are place under further examination and just one from each category will go forward to represent the Asia Pacific region in the International Property Awards.

The Asia Pacific Property Awards - together with the other regional awards' programmes for Arabia, Europe, Africa, the USA, Central and South America, the Caribean and Canada - form the globally renowned International Property Awards. They are considered some of the world's most prestigious property competitions and cover residential and commercial categories.
