Genting directors top 'highest paid* list
KUALA LUMPUR: Genting Bhd has topped the highest-paid directors list, paying the highest remuneration to its entire board last year. Genting's board of directors received RM140.9 million last year, compared with RM117 million in 2012, according to the Malaysian Business magazine's annual survey of the "highest-paid directors".
In a statement, the magazine said it believed Genting's highest-paid director was its executive chairman and chief executive Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, who received remuneration in the band of RM136.45 million to RM136.5 million last year. This compared with the RM111.55 million to RM111.6 million band previously, it said.
In the case of Genting Malaysia Bhd, a unit of Genting Bhd, the highest-paid executive, whom the magazine again assumed is Lim, took home between RM57.4 million and RM57.45 million, higher than the RM48.6 million to RM5O million band he enjoyed in 2012. IOI Corp Bhd came in third with its executive chairman Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng taking home a higher amount in the band of RM52.1 million to RM52.15 million, compared with RM47.7 million to RM47.74 million previously.
