Foundation donates RM100,000 to society
Dijaya Tropicana Foundation donated RM100,000 to Early Intervention Society (PPIA) at its headquarters in Petaling Jaya recently.
The foundation board member Dickson Tan handed over a mock cheque for the amount to PPIA secretary of management committee Tan Chin Yau.
Also present were Dijaya Corporation Berhad group CEO Tan Sr Danny Tan and its managing director.
Chin Yau said this was the highest donation received thus far.
"We currently run four centres in Batu Pahat, Johor providing vocational and skill training programmes for children with developmental, intellectual and learning disabilities.
"Our aim is to group all the centres in one building but it will cost about RM5mil. We have now collected RM1mil," he said.
"We hope the contribution will go a long way in helping PPIA achieve their objectives and to provide better facilities and programmes for the intellectually challenged children and youth," said Dijaya MD.
The foundation, established earlier this year, aimed to improve the lives of the underprivileged communities through provisions of funding and other charitiable initiatives.
Those who wish to donate to PPIA may contact the centre at 07-435 2145.
