China Press, 7 April 2011 - Dijaya Tropicana Foundation Donated RM1 Million to Seven Schools and Four Non-Profit Organisations

Dijaya Tropicana Foundation, a newly set up charity organisation, donated RM1 million to seven schools and four non-profit organisations. The aim is to fulfil the social responsibility of a corporation by contributing back to society.

Seven Chinese schools from Perak and Malacca received a total amount of RM400,000.

Four non-profit organisations including Ti-Ratana Welfare Society Malaysia, National Heart Foundation and Malaysian Wushu Federation, received RM100,000 each, while the Buddhist Tzu-Chi Merit Society Malaysia received RM300,000.

Dijaya Tropicana Foundation’s inaugural charitable gala dinner donation ceremony was witnessed by many prominent organisations, non-profit government organisations and also representatives from the education sector.

Among the many guests-of-honour who attended the gala dinner that night were MCA President Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, Ministry of Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Chor Chee Hong, former MCA President Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik and his wife, Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Deputy Minister Datuk Chan Chee Yong, MCA Public Service and Complaints Bureau Datuk Michael Chong; Dijaya Group CEO Tan Sri Dato’ Tan Chee Sing and his wife Puan Sri Chen Siew Chew, and their sons Executive Directors

Tan Yong Loong, Tan Yong Jin, Tan Yong Jia, Tan Yong Chuan and daughter Tan Xue Ni.
